The Big Picture

After having already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series, the Women in Blue will look to close the rubber on a high when they take on the White Ferns' on Friday.

Like their male counterparts, the Women in Blue have thoroughly dominated the series. The template has been simple- rock the top-order with seam before unleashing their troika of spinners in Bist, Yadav, and Deepti Sharma.

For the White Ferns', nothing has clicked in the series thus. Their batting has been over-reliant on the likes of Bates, Devine and skipper Satterthwaite while the bowlers, barring Amelia Kerr have not yet set the stage on fire with Smriti Mandhana having blazed away with back-to-back swashbuckling innings [105 & 90].

But, as we saw in the Men's ODI at Hamilton, the wicket is expected to aid the fast bowlers, and if the White Ferns' can break into India's untested middle-order, we might be in for an intriguing encounter.

That said, the White Ferns' will need to improve on their batting after having failed to bat out their quota of 50 overs in the first two games.
