IN-W vs EN-W- 3rd T20I Preview

The Big Picture

Change of formats has reversed the fortunes of both sides. Just over a weak ago, England Women were staring at a series whitewash in the 3-match ODI rubber, three games later, it is time for the hosts' to face the music as Smriti Mandhana-led Women in Blue look to break their five-match losing streak in T20I cricket.

India's main concern leading into the T20I series was their middle-order which was further compounded by the injury to Harmanpreet Kaur. But, it is their top-order that has been very disappointing. The likes of Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Mithali Raj have not been able to spearhead the Indian batting resulting in the team posting less than 120 in the first two games.

The Indian bowlers haven't really had a competitive total to work with most of the time but the spinners, as well as seamer Shikha Pandey, have bowled well and will hope the batters get their act right as a series whitewash looms.

For England, it will be a matter of repeating the same thing that has reaped them huge success in the series. Katherine Brunt and Linsey Smith have been sensational with the ball while Tammy Beaumont and Danielle Wyatt have spearheaded the batting unit at the top with both of getting a fifty-plus score in the first two games.

What to expect?

As we saw in the first two T20Is, there were plenty of runs for the batters while the wicket also assisted fast bowling initially. With a match already played on the surface, expect the spinners to come into play tomorrow.
