Future Indian Bowlers who have impressed in IPL 2020, UAE:

We are halfway through the league stage of IPL 2020. And we have been blessed with some fascinating nail-bitters and cricket of the highest quality. A major feature of the Indian Premier League, like all its previous seasons, has been Indian youngsters raising up their hand, taking the responsibilities and not only performing well but delivering match-winning performance. Previously, we looked at young impressive Indian batsman and here are five Indian bowlers that have impressed Indian cricket fans the most:

5. Shivam Mavi: Kolkata Knight Riders made some big calls this IPL season on their core players. One of which was to bring in fresh and young talent to be part of the team and nurture them for the long term. And Shivam Mavi has been a significant part of this core.

The 21-year old has taken 6 IPL wickets in 6 games. Although KKR have not been consistent this season, they have demonstrated a quality brand of cricket and much of their success should be credited to their young guns who have surprised many by their mature display. Mavi is one of them.

The Noida-based bowler was part of the India U 19 World Cup squad during the 2018 U-19 ICC World Cup. Mavi was bought by KKR in the same year and also took five wickets for them. But he was ruled out of the 2019 season owing to an injury. He has however shown tremendous spirit and has been one of the go-to bowlers for the franchise.

4. Kamlesh Nagarkoti: Another from the batch Rahul Dravid's U-19 WC winners in 2018, Nagarkoti has impressed many with his exploits this IPL season. What has been fascinating about his story is the fact that he was bought alongside Mavi by KKR in 2018, but wasn't given a start until IPL 2020. Before this, he made his List A debut for the state of Rajasthan in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The youngster has been particularly patient and credit has to be given to the franchise as well for entrusting him with their core. The 20-year old from Barmer has taken four wickets so far for KKR this season.

Another bonus of having him in the playing XI has been his fielding. Nagarkoti is one of the few fast bowlers in the contemporary scene who are exquisite in the field. With KKR in a tricky situation in the IPL points table, the bowlers will have to be at their peak and it will be interesting to see how Nagarkoti and Mavi respond to this challenging situation. Something which will decide their fate in this IPL tournament.

3. Rahul Chahar: A leg-spinner who is not a rookie to IPL T20 but someone who is one of the budding talents of Indian cricket. 21- year old Rahul Chahar has made a huge impact on the Mumbai Indians franchise in the last year or so. He took 13 wickets for the defending champions in their winning campaign of 2019.

This season so far, the bowler from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan has taken nine wickets for MI. With the tri-factor of Trent BoultJasprit Bumrah, and James Pattinson being at the centre of MI's bowling attack, Rahul has been able to express his game freely and add the pressure on the opposition who look for opportunities to score apart from MI's pace trio.

His performance has shunned all the talks about MI not having any spinner with legitimate experience. With his wicket-taking ability and MI looking in solid form, the prospect of Rahul Chahar wearing the India blues soon is around the corner.

2) Ravi Bishnoi: India didn't just have Kartik Tyagi to look up to for wickets in the U19 World Cup in South Africa earlier this year. Bishnoi has emerged out as one of the sensational spinners for the future. He took four wickets in his quota of ten overs against Bangladesh in the final.

And amidst the bowling woes at KXIP, the 20-year old has emerged as a fearless leggie who loves to set up the opposition batsman by teasing a flighted delivery. Something which is a key weapon for India's prime limited-overs leggie, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Bishnoi who hails from Jodhpur, Rajasthan has eight wickets to his name so far in IPL 2020. With Anil Kumble as head coach, the youngster doesn't need to look far for inspiration and insights into his game. With Punjab lurking at the Top 4 of the IPL standings, Bishnoi's performance with the ball seems to be one of the major positives for them apart from the success of openers, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal.

1. Kartik Tyagi: The youngest of the lot, Tyagi was a key feature of the Indian U-19 Cricket World Cup squad that was played earlier this year. The bowler from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh took 11 wickets in the U19 World Cup. He was given a go-ahead in the fifth game of this season as he made his debut for Rajasthan Royals and proved his mettle in his maiden over by picking Quinton de Kock off a pacy bouncer.

The 19-year old has picked up five wickets since that game for the Royals, including that of the India skipper, Virat Kohli. England's World Cup hero and RR's star all-rounder, Ben Stokes made an interesting comparison of Tyagi with Brett Lee and Ishant Sharma when it comes to his bowling action.

The stars look all aligned for the young seamer to make it big, given his fearless attitude in bowling. He is a genuine fast bowler, one who doesn't shy away from delivering fiery bouncers to world-class batsmen. Something which we have seen of him already in the five games he has played in IPL 2020 so far.
